Arthur brown

All Wight Now 2018 @ The Cow at Tapnell Farm

Saturday 1st September 2018

lINE UP: ARTHUR BROWN, DICK TAYLOR & PHIL MAY WITH JC & ANGELINA, ASHLEY HUTCHINGS, THE ALBERTS.

OUTLANDISH late-60s rock star Arthur Brown is to perform at All Wight Now, the Isle of Wight retrospective to mark the 50th anniversary of the original Island festival back in 1968.

Arthur, the flamboyant vocalist who sold a million with worldwide hit 'Fire', starred at the inaugural festival at Ford Farm on the Island on September 1, 1968.

Exactly 50 years to the day, he will be back to join fellow 68 festival performers Ashley Hutchings, an integral part of the 1968 Fairport Convention lineup, and The Pretty Things' Dick Taylor and Phil May, with support from local band The Alberts.

Ashley (founder of the Fairport Convention) will bring both his music and his unique reminiscences of that time. Bob Dylan said of him (in September 2015): “Ashley Hutchings is the single most important figure in the history of English folk-rock.”

For this first event as a special 'one off,' Dick Taylor & Phil May (The Pretty Things) are teaming up with Popular Island Artists JC & Angelina.

The venue for this year’s event is The Cow at Tapnell Farm: a stunning rural location in the West Wight with unrivaled views overlooking the site of the legendary 1970 IW Festival at East Afton.
