Island music promoters Vaguely Sunny's final event of a busy 2009 is a Christmas Concert at Porchfield Village Hall featuring the highly entertaining duo of fiddler Joe Broughton and guitarist/singer Kevin Dempsey.
Joe Broughton is a clasically trained violin player, but his style owes much more to folk, jazz and Blues.
He was a member of the Albion Band from 1997-2003 and more recently he is also well known as a Feast of Fiddles. Ashley Hutchings describes him as a 'massive individual talent'.
Joe also has a reputation for in-between song banter that would put most comedians to shame. Kevin Dempsey needs no introduction on the Isle of Wight.
He first performed here in the eighties as a member of 'Whippersnapper, and in the last few years he has appeared with Uiscedwr, with Tanna at the Folk and Blues Festival, and earlier this year as a member of Swarb's Lazarus. As a result, we don't need to remind anyone what a first class musician he is.
Put these two together and you have a dynamic duo Capacity at Porchfield Village Hall is limited to 60, so early booking is advised.
Tickets are £11.00 each and you can book by phoning Vic on 01983 730930 or Pete on 07921 942022.
