Ryde lantern

Theme: It’ll be all white on the night!

Saturday 5 December 5 to 8pm. FREE

Parade starts Dover Park and Greenmount schools for Star St, Upper High St, Anglesey St, Upper George St, Cross St and into Union Street for finish.

Entertainment and late night shopping in the town centre. In association with Ryde Business Association, Ryde Town Council, Ryde Arts Festival and Ryde Carnival.

This is the biggest, brightest (and original) lantern parade on the Island. Lanterns of all shapes and sizes created by schools and community groups, artists and individuals, make their way through the streets of Ryde to welcome the winter and the Christmas season.

This year’s theme is all things ‘white’ so expect snowmen and polar bears, doves of peace and fluffy white clouds, lilies and snowdrops, white rabbits and snowy owls. Washing machines and fridge freezers perhaps? Let your imagination go wild
