Part of Isle of Wight Walking Festival 2010

Now in its 5th year, the Isle of Wight speed-dating walk on Sunday 9 May forms part of the council’s annual walking festival (8-23 May) which every year attracts around 12,000 visitors from all areas of the UK and overseas.
Great as part of a weekend break, the speed-dating walk is fun and has a track record of bringing people together. Maybe it’s the Island’s stunning scenery, the warm sea air or the arrival of spring - a time of love and romance - but so far at least 3 couples have tied the knot as a result of meeting on the walk, while dozens more have formed lasting friendships.
The Isle of Wight speed-dating walk starts at 11am on Sunday 9 May at the Fisherman’s Cottage, which is located on the beach at the foot of Shanklin Chine. The walk lasts 3 hours (distance 4 miles) and costs £5 to register, or £12 if you require a light lunch at the pub afterwards.
Suitable for those aged 18 and over, booking is essential and registration forms are available on the website
