In 1965 New York drummer Roy Blumenfeld founded The Blues Project, with Al Kooper (who that year played keyboards on Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone”). After The Blues Project appeared at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, Roy formed Seatrain. In the 70’s The Blues Project re-formed and recorded a concert in New York’s Central Park. Roy then worked with Grateful Dead’s Robert Hunter before founding San Francisco Nights with original members of The Steve Miller Band, Big Brother & The Holding Company, and Country Joe and The Fish. Although destined for great things, they folded in 2014 after Big Brother & The Holding Company's Sam Andrew died.
Guitarist David Aguilar has played with Bo Diddley, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Paul Butterfield, Jackson Browne and many more.
Steve Browning (bass) joined UK 60’s legends The Pretty Things in the ‘80’s. He’s also played with Ronnie Spector (The Ronettes), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and in bands with Brendan O’Neill (Rory Gallagher), and Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention) amongst others. He played on U.K tours for the Californian band It’s A Beautiful Day, headlining a spot at the 2011 Isle Of Wight Festival.
They are joined by their VERY special guest Barry “The Fish” Melton, founder member of Country Joe & The Fish, heroes of the 1969 Woodstock Festival and The Monterey Festival of 1967. The band featured in films of both events. Barry is one of the most influential psychedelic guitarists ever, and is a fine and powerful singer.
Nearly half a million people attended the Woodstock Festival, so don’t miss out!.
