This will be a free event but donations are always welcome.

A public evening on February 28th starting at Newchurch Paviliion and the IW Observatory.

It is planned to provide a progress report about the application for the proposed Dark Sky Park accreditation from the International Dark-skies Association (IDA), with the opportunity for Q&As.

This will be followed by Vectis Astronomical Society (VAS) member John Slinn's talk "Dark Skies and the Isle of Wight". Later there we may view the nightscape via the VAS equipment (weather dependant of course).

Refreshments and a raffle will also be offered. Family friendly as ever but do bring warm clothing and a small personal torch for your own safety.

The event is hosted by VAS in conjunction with CPRE(IW) and the IW AONB Unit.
