To celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee the Museum of Island History will be open free of charge on Tuesday 31 May.
There will be a display of photographs of the Queen’s visit to Newport in 1965 and Newport decorated for the Coronation.
Come and see new discoveries of Isle of Wight archaeology including a stunning medieval gold ring and a high quality Anglo Saxon mount.
The temporary exhibition explores the history of Newport and there are over 100 photographs of the town on display.
The Newport exhibition has been supported by a grant from Historic England as part of the Heritage High Street Action Zone Cultural Programme.
The Event is organised by the Isle of Wight Heritage Service.
