What does it mean to be self-sufficient? Is it all or nothing? Can we begin to incorporate more self-sufficiency into our lives? Join us for a thought-provoking Sunday Lunch Sessions where we delve into the concept of self-sufficiency. To begin, are you curious about Wild Food? Take a one hour foraging walk around Ventnor with instructor Joseph Thurbin and learn about the abundance of edible plants that grow right here on our doorstep. From common weeds to edible trees, you will learn about the historical uses of common plants and how learning to identify them can invigorate our understanding of the wider landscape. Meet at Ingram’s Yard, the walk will last around 1 hour and will explore the unique botany of both the town and seafront. Bring a notebook, comfortable shoes and plenty of questions. Joseph Thurbin is a foraging instructor and filmmaker from the Isle of Wight, who through his company Fieldstudy seeks to teach people about the natural landscape through the universal language of delicious food.
