“Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality” – Malala Yousafzai

Let’s imagine a brighter future together! Join creative environmental activist Julie Hutchison in crafting a community manifesto that reflects our dreams and ambitions for a better tomorrow. Share your voice, inspire action, and be part of a movement for positive change. Julie Hutchison is an environmental activist and campaigner. She started to study for an arts degree when XR launched, and then felt morally obligated to act on the climate emergency. She is a town councillor and the County Officer for the Isle of Wight Association of Local Councils. Julie recently helped establish the East Wight Primary. She volunteers her time to make action happen locally and nationally.

On May 8th the session will also feature guest speakers Ian Boyd, polymath and ecologist, talking about nature and the environment and Holly Maslen, artist and chef, exploring the importance of food and what we can do to eat sustainably.

On May 15th the session will feature guest speaker Steve Cockett, General Manager at Wight Community Energy, who will talk about the importance of energy and low-carbon living.

There will be a free vegetarian soup supper provided by Better Days Cafe during this workshop.

The Manifesto will be unveiled at the Palace Party on Saturday 18 May where we will invite the community to sign and share.

Time: 7pm – 9pm
