The Annual General Meeting for the Freshwater & Totland Archive Group is om Monday 4th March at 7.00pm at the Freshwater Methodist Church, Brookside Road. After the meeting we will show a film created by the late Eric Toogood, a local busineess man and historian. Transferred from the original cine-film, it is an insight into the ‘not so glamorous side’ of the now world famous1970 Isle of Wight Pop Festival at Afton. The arrival of the fans, the buses, traffic jams, long queues at the shops, the tents, rubbish on the site, and lots more, are included in this unique piece of social history. Maybe you have memories about the festival that you could share?
Everyone is welcome. Free entry but donations appreciated. Refreshments available and a raffle. Copies of our books will be on sale.
