Brook village heritage walks

Brook people and places (2hrs max)

To run alongside the Exhibition (19th - 28th August) and events (20th - 21st August) at the Seely Hall, Brook, Isle of Wight, PO30 4ER, there will be a series of guided walks on offer.

The emphasis will be on an enjoyable walk with some local history.

A ‘small place with a big history,’ Brook can be seen as a microcosm of British history. People drawn to the beauty of Brook over the ages include Bronze Age hunter-gatherers, writers, politicians and some of the richest people in the land.

This walk moves from the coast, across farmland to the Church.

It includes historical houses and returns back through the village.

Monday 22nd August 2pm – 4pm
Wednesday 24th August 10.30am -12.30pm

All walks are circular and start from Brook Bay car park (NT). Please wear good walking shoes.

Dogs on leads welcome. Refreshments available at the Seely Hall, Brook, at the end of each walk. All walks are led by those involved in writing Brook, A Village History.

Booking essential – please telephone 01983 240986.
