Brook village heritage walks

To run alongside the Exhibition (19th - 28th August) and events (20th - 21st August) at the Seely Hall, Brook, Isle of Wight, PO30 4ER, there will be a series of guided walks on offer.

The emphasis will be on an enjoyable walk with some local history.

Lifeboat, smuggling and fossils (1.5 hrs approx)

A shorter walk that takes you from the cottages on Brook Green to the old coastguard station and from there around Hanover Point to Brook Bay.

A coast that is awash with stories of wrecks, lifeboat men, smuggling and coastguards.

Walk past Hanover Point and the Thimble where the dinosaurs once lived in the pine forests and rivers that are now the coastline.

Wednesday 24th August 2pm - 4pm
Sunday 28th August 2pm - 4pm

N.B. There are a number of stiles on this walk.

All walks are circular and start from Brook Bay car park (NT). Please wear good walking shoes.

Dogs on leads welcome. Refreshments available at the Seely Hall, Brook, at the end of each walk. All walks are led by those involved in writing Brook, A Village History.
