The 40 band members from Reading will be performing on the Parade Ground at the Needles Old Battery between 1.30pm and 3pm so do come along and support them. Normal admission prices apply. Free for National Trust members.

Woodley Concert Band is a community wind band formed in 1974, based near Reading in Berkshire. Consisting of over 45 players with a mix of amateur and professional musicians, they aim to entertain their audiences with a wide variety of music, including musicals, film themes, popular tunes as well as serious original wind band repertoire all performed to an extremely high standard.

In a typical year, they will perform around 20 concerts, both indoors and outdoors and in the past few years have performed on the prestigious bandstand in Eastbourne, in Kensington Gardens in London and have undertaken a very successful 4 day tour to Belgium.

This year, as part of their 2011 programme of events, they will be visiting the Isle of Wight to perform in Rylstone Gardens Bandstand in Shanklin on the 16th July and at the Needles Old Battery on Sunday 17th July. The touring group, consisting of 40 band members will be at the Old Battery between 1.30pm – 3pm.
