This event is part of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s celebration of National Bike Week

The event will start and finish at The Three Bishops in Brighstone on Sunday 26th June 2011.

This is the second year of Cycle the Wight, which is an annual sponsored cycle ride that raises funds for organisations that support people suffering from cancer.

The event aims to celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us or who are currently suffering with this disease by getting out and doing something fun and healthy to help raise money to support their care. Funds raised by the event go to a dedicated cancer charity and this year that will be The Mountbatten Nursing Service.

This year there will be 3 routes to choose from. A road route or a cross country route, both chosen to provide a challenge for riders. There will also be a shorter route for children and the less energetic. All routes will be through some of the Isle of Wight’s most beautiful countryside and there will be refreshments provided half way round the route.

There is a £5.00 registration fee for sponsored riders (under 15’s free).
You can register at the events official website: www.cyclethewight.org

All riders will receive a medal when they complete the route and trophies will be awarded for the most sponsorship raised and for the best fancy dress, which is optional.

Friends and family are invited to give their support and join the fun by visiting the Cycle the Wight marquee at The Three Bishops in Brighstone. There will be live music and a BBQ available throughout the afternoon and evening.
