Quay Art presents the second session of Acoustic Originals on Monday 31 Jan 8pm; a showcase for quality songwriting, with the chance to enjoy the best from the Island and beyond.
Line-up includes Tim Holehouse, a newcomer to Acoustic Originals; he is the archetypal image of a bluesman with a soulful sound.
He is joined by Hannah Jacobs whose beautiful voice and outstanding piano and guitar playing transport you straight to heaven. Hannah is in her final year at university studying a Creative Writing degree, yet she manages to put time aside to deliver effortless sounding lyrics.
Hannah says:
‘My newer stuff is influenced by musicals, particularly those of Mr Tim Burton! I have quite a theatrical taste and I've always tried to be a bit "quirky" when it comes to writing my own material.’
Well known and loved Island musician, JC plays for the first time and is likely to draw a large crowd with his ingenious and inspiring playing.
To add to the bumper line-up we have newly formed band of Isle of Wight musicians, Beachcomber, this four piece band’s folksy sound takes its influences from classical to metal. Expect a slightly off-beat sound that compliments the traditional, lyrical British folk sound.
Finally we have another brand new act, funk/reggae band, The Ohmz who play great skipping tunes that make you want to get up and dance. Their influences are Bob Marley, Toots & The Maytals, Marcus Miller & Herbie Hancock.
Come along, have a beer or a glass of wine and enjoy this popular evening of quality music for FREE!
