Lady Grylls, chair of the Admiral Nurses IW Appeal, and Natalie Pugh of the Quirky Teapot are hosting a grand Vintage Day at the pretty tearoom, courtyard and garden of Staplehurst Grange, where dressing in vintage style will be positively encouraged.
The Quirky Teapot’s Vintage Day, on Saturday 20th August, will celebrate all things vintage, along with raising awareness and funds for the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses (IW) Appeal.
Sally, Lady Grylls, chair of the Admiral Nurses IW Appeal, will be giving a short talk about the work of Dementia UK’s specialist ‘Admiral’ dementia nurses at 12 noon.
Entertainments will include music from The Vintage Songbird, Sandy Lenny and Emily Wild; talks and an exhibition from ‘All Our Yesterdays’; fancy dress costumes; vintage stalls selling a wide range of must-have items; ‘Encoupaged! – a new hobby for you perhaps?’; stunning vintage classic cars and tractors, and the cute vintage ice-cream stand Bertie the Tricycle.
For kids there will be a face painter and a bubble workshop and other kid-friendly things to do, and the tearoom will be selling vintage-inspired cakes.
It’s a donation entry to the appeal and there will be representatives from the charity on hand.
Please email Natalie at [email protected] if you would like to book a stall or support the event in any way.
Quirky Teapot’s Vintage Day is on Saturday 20th August and runs from 10am to 4pm.
You can find Staplehurst Grange on Staplers Road, Newport, PO30 2LU (formerly the Lavender Farm).
