Local St Helens photographer Brian Williams LRPS is holding a photographic exhibition entitled “Afloat”.

The exhibition takes place at The Ryde Library Gallery from now until the 29th January 2011.

A series of 40 images based on a Maritime / Nautical theme.

Subjects range from Tall ships, Navel Vessels, Round the Island Race to dinghy racing at Seaveiw and Bembridge Redwings.

Brian’s interest in photography started in 1960’s and after more than 40years of taking photographs he was persuaded three years ago by his daughter Debbie that it was time to share his work with the public; so every year since then he has held an exhibition of his work at The Ryde Library Gallery.

“Brian say’s that photography is his hobby he doesn’t do it for profit or gain but for the enjoyment of taking an image that can be enjoyed by others. He uses different styles and techniques, trying hard to be versatile in his approach, seeing each opportunity as a challenge to test his skills”

He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society and a founder member of the local photography group “Wight Balance Photography Plus”
