Learning Curve Gallery, Quay Arts.
Sat 10 May – Sat 7 Jun.
Artists Ian Whitmore and Chris Jenkins collaborate with Island schools to create this exhibition in response to some of the patterns used in defence during the First World War. They explore the shapes of hastily-built trench structures that were home to so many soldiers during the Great War and camouflage created by the Allies and Germans to disguise ships and planes. Focusing on the bold multi-coloured German lozenge patterns known as buntfarbenaufdruck and the groundbreaking naval camouflage know as Razzle-Dazzle, introduced by British artist Norman Wilkinson.
