All IW Teachers are invited to the IWCEP 'Inspiring Young Lives' Cultural Education Conference on Thursday 16th November at Quay Arts.

The IW Cultural Education Partnership is a developing resource of local, regional and national creative individuals and organisations committed to working with the Island’s schools to nurture creative education for all young people.

This conference aims to inspire educators and cultural providers through a range of talks and activities. With a focus on fostering creativity and diversity, we will explore innovative approaches to inclusivity and diversity in the wider curriculum and reflect upon how we can enhance the engagement of young people in their learning.

There will be a range of presentations from experienced practitioners around the theme of inclusion and diversity through creative approaches, including our Keynote speakers Kris Halpin and Rick Hall. Kris Halpin, aka Dyskinetic, is a Disabled artist and music-maker, known internationally for using the ground-breaking MiMu Gloves. Rick Hall, is a writer and consultant in the arts and STEM education, young people and creativity in learning.

The IWCEP aims to ensure that every child and young person has access to the highest quality cultural opportunities. We host CPD events, deliver workshops, build networks, advise, connect artists with schools and raise new investment for cultural activity.

This event will be an opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, whilst learning about the plans already in place as a result of the Arts Council's recent investment in the Isle of Wight.
