Springtime Special: With Maggie Sawkins, Barry Smith and Steve Rushton Join us on Tuesday, 25th April, at 4pm in the tearoom for jazzy sounds and delicious cakes, and then at 5pm in the Olympus Gallery for poetry with Maggie, Barry and Steve.

Enjoy toe-tapping jazz from the Trio (clarinet, piano and rhythm) and inspirational words from three acclaimed poets. Maggie Sawkins has won the Ted Hughes Award, Barry Smith was shortlisted by the BBC Proms Poetry/Bread & Roses Awards while artist and poet Steve Rushton is the recipient of Arts Council support and well known to island residents for his eclectic mix of poetry and music. All set in the historic Dimbola home of pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron.

Maggie and Barry will read from their new Waterloo Press collections, The House Where Courage Lives and Performance Rites, while Steve will present selections from his four books including Preface Metamorphoses. Expect the sounds of Benny Goodman from the jazz trio.
