Charlotte Hodge Thomas is one of 19 artists who invites the public to come and feast their eyes on her latest collection of paintings, at her studio during Open Studios weekend (Fri 23 July - Mon 26 July).

Charlotte’s vibrant acrylic paintings marry sweeping backgrounds of intense colour with finely observed detail.

Her subjects feature very local themes; Bembridge harbour and beaches, dramatic skies, sea-marks, boats and buoys, Bembridge Ledge and the Lifeboat station. To add to her diverse collection of paintings this year she will also be displaying recent life-drawings captured in charcoal, pencil and mixed media.

Charlotte, who is somewhat renowned for her vivid depictions of the ‘Fort Walk’ (an annual trek which takes place at one of the lowest tides of the year, from the beaches at Bembridge and St Helens, out to the Palmerstone Fort), has added two new paintings to this popular series of originals.

One of those new paintings, entitled ‘Wade to the Fort’, is also available as one of Charlotte’s highly collectable, and affordable, limited edition prints.
