Looking for volunteers on the Isle of Wight to turn lives around

Are you an impartial person with great communication skills? Could you help victims and offenders talk about incidents that have affected them and help them move forward?

Restorative Solutions, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Age UK are looking for volunteers who can help transform the lives of people on the Island.

Restorative Justice facilitators work with victims and offenders and others affected by crime by helping them to communicate with each other in a way that suits them and their situation.

This can be face-to-face if appropriate, or indirectly through shuttle mediation. The process offers victims the chance to be heard and ask questions and gives offenders the chance to apologise and take responsibility for their actions.

If you are interested in learning about Restorative Justice or becoming a volunteer facilitator then you can find out more on the 15th December at 2pm at the Riverside Centre in Newport.

There will be a talk from Peter Woolf who was a career criminal and eventually turned his life around after taking part in Restorative Justice.

Restorative Justice is available for victims and perpetrators of crime on the Isle of Wight and for further information please visit:
