One of the UK's most popular and well known actors is returning to the Isle of Wight as part of the 15th annual Isle of Wight Walking Festival in May.

Brian Blessed, star of iconic films such as Flash Gordon and Henry V, as well as famous TV series Z Cars and Black Adder.

As well as his acting credentials, Brian is just as well known for being an adventurer.

He climbed Mont Blanc at the age of seventeen, and he has remained an active mountaineer throughout his life. He has tried to climb Mount Everest on thee separate occasions and during his attempt in 1993, the then 56-year old climbed higher than any other man of his age until the record was broken by Sir Ranulph Fiennes in 2009.

He has successful climbed Aconcagua in Argentina as well as Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

During his previous visit to the Isle of Wight Walking Festival in 2010, Brian spoke to a sell-out crowd at Medina Theatre, and tickets are expected to again sell out fast.
