Oratorio Lovers Heads Up! Do Not Miss ! A Rare Opportunity to experience a live performance of Bach’s St John Passion.

Philip Fryer’s Ryde Chorus, are joined by internationally acclaimed soloists and orchestra (leader Sandie Hunt) on May 4th at St John The Baptist Church Oakfield Ryde at 7.30p.m Tickets £10 on the door or from www.rydechorus.ticketsource.co.uk.

Rogers Covey-Crump (tenor) will sing the evangelist, as part of his wide ranging career he has recorded five albums with Café Mozart a chamber ensemble based in Winsor, and has a distinguished career with The Hilliard Ensemble a male voice quartet known globally for concerts and recordings of early music.

Returning to sing with Ryde Chorus again is Olwen Keates (soprano) whose repertoire includes amongst many composers Schumann, Schubert, Faure and many leading roles in operetta.

Samir Savant (tenor), has previously sung with Ryde Chorus and combines a singing career with a career in Arts fundraising and he is currently Director of Development at the Royal College of Music, his solo oratorio repertoire includes the evangelist in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio.

Richard Lea (bass) is pleased to return to sing with Ryde Chorus again. Richard has sung in a wide range of choral concert repertoire including the part of Christus in Bach’s St John Passion in London.

Adrian Horsewood (bass) says that the music of Bach has always been extremely close to his heart and his performing work includes the world premiere performance of Stockhausen’s Mittwoch aus Licht, He is looking forward to this summer’s BBC proms with EX Cathedra.

Counter Tenors are rare indeed and Giles Pilgrim Morris is a freelance counter tenor who sings at a number of important churches in London, including Handel’s Church Hanover Square. Giles combines his singing career with his role as UK representative for the German music publisher Breitkopf & Hartel.
