Music that moves the feet
Words that move the soul
Saturday 20 April 7.00pm, The Spyglass Boathouse. £6.50
The acoustic instruments, strong melodies and watertight harmonies of LiTTLe MACHiNe create songs that draw on a thousand years of verse, from Shakespeare and Blake, to Eliot, Larkin and more.
If poetry is the best words in the best order, then LiTTLe MACHiNe have been just as careful in creating music that can move the feet for words that move the soul.
Band members Walter Wray, Steve Halliwell and Chris Hardy have an eclectic musical and literary pedigree. Wray has spent a lifetime hollering the blues, crooning tunes as a solo artist and in bands such as Junk from Sheffield and 90s stadium rock poseurs King Swamp. Halliwell also played in King Swamp and was a session musician in the post-punk world of Shriekback. Hardy is a prize-winning poet and experienced folk-blues guitarist and songwriter.
“You’re in for such a treat. I think it's a long time since I heard something so exciting” Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate
