Texas bluesman Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges is a nomadic musician living his life on the road. His home is wherever the next performance takes him, and every year this is from America through Europe, to Australia with many other stops in between, this year stopping at Freshwater Memorial Hall as part of his UK tour.

Eugene comes from a musical background rich in gospel, blues and R&B. Born in 1963, the Texan inherited his guitar skills from his father, blues guitarist Hideaway Slim and his distinctive voice from his mother, cousin to Tina Turner. Dubbed by many as the next BB King, Eugene got his big break playing with BB King’s band and now tours the world in his own right. Eugene has been awarded vocalist of the year by the UK’s Blueprint magazine and MOJO Magazine recently described him as ‘Eugenius’.

Support on the night from Island band "The MoonShiners". Fusing together influences from the Chicago blues of Muddy Waters/Little Walter to the Folk-Rock-Americana of Bob Dylan & The Band, The MoonShiners deliver a strong set of good-time music.

Doors open 7.30pm with the support band on stage at 8pm.
