Cello stevendepolo

A dozen cellos will be heard playing an eclectic mix of music for multi cellos in Niton on Sunday, 29th August starting at 6.30pm.

The cellists, from all over the UK and the Island, have been working with James Halsey.

The nucleus of the group consists of James’ pupils, some currently at music college, some pre and post music college, but also includes a few older, gifted amateur cellists.

They share with James a love of playing together and will present an entertaining variety of pieces from composers from the Renaissance like Gabrielli, to French romantic Faure, Barber’s famous Adagio, right through to fun, jazzy present day music.

The informal concert will begin at 6.30pm at Niton Primary School, entry is free, all are welcome, there will be refreshments after the music and a retiring collection to be divided between Niton School and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice cycle challenge.
