Tickets are still available for the artSOUTH coach tour this Saturday 28th September! We will visit the fantastic cardboard control room 'Midnight' at The Needles New Battery by artSOUTH commissioned artist Tom Hall, before going to Quay Arts to hear Tom talk about his associated exhibition 'Chasing Sputnik' in The West Gallery created by himself and two other artists, Roy Brown and Julia Flatman.

There will be a pick up first in Southampton, where mainland visitors will be able to see new artwork by artSOUTH artists Jeremy Millar and Bouke de Vries and their collaborators at Southampton City Art Gallery, the tour will continue on the Isle of Wight where we will pick up Island visitors at Quay Arts and go on to visit Tom Hall’s cardboard control room at The Needles New Battery National Trust site at West High Down, made in response to the old rocket testing facility which housed the British Space Programme throughout the 50’s and 60’s. We will then go back to Quay Arts where Tom Hall will be talking at 3pm about his associated exhibition 'Chasing Sputnik', and his collaboration with Mike Elliot, ex-rocket man.

A great opportunity to see new work, accompanied by Gill Nicol artSOUTH Engagement Programmer who will be your guide for the trip.

You can come for the whole coach tour (to come on the tour from Southampton book via www.artsouth.org.uk), or hop on the coach at Quay Arts for £10 / £8 before going to West High Down, or come just for the talk by Tom Hall at Quay Arts £5 /£3.
