New to the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival for 2013 is the Cycle Cinema!
Taking place at Seaclose Park, Newport on Saturday 28 September from 7pm, the outdoor Cycle Cinema is run using only pedal-power.
The audience is invited to cycle to the screening, their bicycles will then be placed in a stand which will capture the power generated as people cycle.
A number of bicycles will be provided on the night for those unable to ride to the venue. There is no stored energy so if the pedals stop – so does the film!
We have been asking people to vote which film you would like to see at the Cycle Cinema.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial – featuring the iconic scene where ET helps the children escape from government agents by powering a bicycle into the moonlit sky, was the winning film and will be shown on the night.
An alternative venue will be available in the event of bad weather.
