Kicking off the summer holidays this year we have joined forces with Vectis 40’s Vintage to present and promote The Roaring Forties! A weekend packed full of celebration and remembrance of Britain during the Second World War.

The Wildheart Sanctuary itself is located within Sandown’s iconic Palmerston fort which, when upgraded in 1864, became better known as the “Granite fort” going on to play a significant role in the World War II effort, evidence of which is still on site today!

This is a unique opportunity to experience a part of the British and Isle of Wight’s gallant war effort and, in celebration, we will be bringing our site to life as you have never seen it before!

The Roaring Forties takes place on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd July 2023 providing a remarkable occasion for you to enjoy visiting our Sanctuary while still being able to enjoy spending time with our beautiful animals.
