Freddie, a headstrong 25-year-old woman, returns to Korea, where she was born before being adopted by a French couple. She decides to track down her biological parents. She finds her father, but rejects his efforts to make up for lost time.

But her efforts to locate her mother are more problematic, leaving her struggling to come to terms with her identity and floundering in a culture she finds alien.
