New Carnival presents 'IW Mardi Gras' their signature children's and young people's focused parade themed as 'Year of the Coast 2023'.

Starting and finishing at Simeon Recreation Ground Ryde- 3-5pm. The parade goes along the Strand, up Dover Street, across Melville and Cross street, down Union Street and along the Esplanade. A quiet zone for audience members who prefer to watch without drumming and music is near the end of Eastern Gardens.

Mini Mardi Gras is from 11-2pm in St Thomas's rest gardens in town, FREE family activities- facepainting, story telling, circus and craft skills. An opportunity to join the parade down Union Street for children who wish to experience the carnival close up, be ready from 3.15-30pm in St Thomas Church yard to be collected by a steward.
