The Island Savoyards return to Shanklin Theatre this Easter with the spectacular and powerful "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

This lushly scored retelling of Victor Hugo's epic story of love, acceptance and what it means to be a true hero, uses the beautiful Academy award nominated songs from the Disney animated film and is sure to captivate audiences.

As one of the Island's leading theatre societies, The Island Savoyards were formed in 1971 and are well known for staging exceptional "West End worthy" productions. Over the last 50 years, the company has gained a faithful following and continues to grow audience numbers year on year. After an enforced break due to covid, The Island Savoyards came back in October 2021 with the cult classic "Little Shop of Horrors" which showed how diverse the company are and was well received by enthusiastic theatre goers.

The Hunchback of Notre allows The Island Savoyards to show case their signature chorus sound and is one of the most challenging and rewarding pieces the company has undertaken, with a strong principal cast, a large supporting ensemble, brand new set design, professional costumes and 16-piece orchestra.

The Island Savoyards are honoured to have been given the opportunity to bring this epic show to Shanklin Theatre and look forward to performing from 14th to 17th April at 7.30pm and 18th April at 2.30pm.
