46 CATS by Kathryn Fowler (Isle of Wight)

Created over a seven-month period between 2021 – 22, Island artist Kathryn Fowler presents, for the first time, a collection of 46 watercolour cat miniatures.

A self-professed ‘slow’ painter, Kathryn turned from larger works to miniatures and explored a variety of themes before devising this collection of uniformly sized cats, taking inspiration from photographs of her late cat ‘Poppy’ and images sourced from magazines.

The charming traditional style portraits are imbued with anthropomorphic and contemporary qualities:
