Cowes artist and designer, Brian Marriott will be holding his annual solo Christmas Exhibition this year at the Island Sailing Club, Cowes.

Exclusively working with recycled waste glass fragments from the internationally famous Isle of Wight Studio Glass, combined with his newly formed glass, creates an impasto like textured painting.

Brian said,

“I apply my skills to create abstract images from 1000’s of fragments of glass to create beautifully vibrant and uplifting images that take full advantage of the qualities within the glass, which, when re-fired in the kiln, fuse into a stunning transformation."

Brian’s pictures depict a diverse range of island landscapes, yacht racing, still life, plus a collection of abstract glass images and prints.

One of many visitors comments during last summer’s Open Studios summed up the his work.

"So original, stunning and vibrant, its fantastic work, I've never seen anything like it before".

The Island Sailing Club exhibition runs from Saturday 2nd to Wednesday 20th December.

11am to 5pm each day in the Beken Room.

Visitors to the Club are very welcome to enjoy the bar and dining room.
