West Wight Arts Association 75th anniversary concert March 12th

West Wight Arts Association will be celebrating its 75th birthday on March 12th with a gala performance of two of classical music’s best loved works, Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet and Schubert’s Octet.

The internationally acclaimed Chiaroscuro String Quartet led by violinist Alina Ibragimova will be joined by Matthew Hunt, clarinet, Alec Frank-Gemmill horn, Juliane Bruckmann, double bass and Chris Rawley bassoon. All the musicians will be playing on period instruments.

The Chiaroscuro String Quartet have been described as “Thrilling in the best sense of the Word” and Matthew Hunt’s recording of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet was acclaimed by BBC Music Magazine as “the benchmark recording of this much recorded work.”

The concert will take place in the Memorial Hall, Freshwater and will start at 19.00. Tickets are available at £15.00 (children and students £2.00) from www.westwightarts.co.uk or Totland Parish Office 756028. Please take a lateral flow test before the concert and wear a mask in the hall. Windows will be open so dress warmly.
