The gallery wall at Brading Roman Villa will have five new pieces of work, all tactile and each containing additional sensory dimension, using sound and smell for example.
The artwork is white and touchable, a concept Lyndy has worked with for many years, creating ‘minimalist images’ that allow an emphasis on texture and form. Further artwork will be hanging in the café.
The image is of ‘Seashore’, it has multiple tactile surfaces and a movement triggered sound sensor, playing seashore sounds when activated. This piece has been created as a result of a really positive reaction to some work, a piece with many textural ‘waves’ on the surface of a canvas, that Lyndy took in to the Isle of Wight Society for the Blind as part of a discussion and investigation for the Easter exhibition at Brading Roman Villa.
There are a few other surprises within the work too!
The exhibition is open daily 10am-5pm
