Navigating The Isle Of Wight: it's an illustrated survey of sea-marks, lighthouses and lightships around the isle of Wight showing their location, history and function. In passing it also deals with foghorns, GPS, AIS and virtual AIS, and surprisingly sea-borne gamma- radiation.

The IET (The Institution of Engineering & Technology) has a Solent Network and an Isle of Wight Section. The local volunteer committee endeavour to organise a number of lectures/presentations each academic year.
