Santiago String Quartet // 16th January 2016
The first concert of 2016 in West Wight Arts Association’s season will be given by the Santiago String Quartet on Saturday January 16th 2016 at 7.00pm in the Memorial Hall, Freshwater.
The Santiago Quartet is a Classical Quartet, specialising in the performance of Latin American music. Formed in 2008 and reformed in late 2012, the Quartet represents the continuation and extension of a mission which began in Merida, Mexico in 2005.
The players, Rowan Bell and Johanna McWeeney, violins, Cressida Wislocki, viola and Jonathan Hennessy-Brown, cello, will play a mixture of Latin American and British works, including Will Todd’s Birthday Quartet which was written as a gift from the composer.
