A gentle introduction to the art of bee-keeping and honey-making, from a long experienced and highly enthusiastic local expert.

Using real hives, Terry Willis (Chairman of the Island Bee-Keepers Association) will show you:

• the bees themselves - the natural workforce

• the equipment - putting together a hive and preparing the protective clothing and tools

• the products - honey, wax, pollen, and propolis

• caring for the colony - health, reproduction, over-wintering, swarming, etc.

This two-day course is not available elsewhere: Terry presents it as a 2hour evening course over eight weeks.
