Artist Talks @ arthouselife (35 Madeira Road near Ventnor Towers Hotel)
arthouselife presents new artwork from Jeremy P. Morgan, Jo Kori and Albedo Marz exclusively for Ventnor Fringe 2018
Jeremy P. Morgan: Imaginal Geographies Jeremy is Associate Professor of Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. He follows up two successful one-man exhibitions last year in Shanghai and Beijing, China with new experimental artworks - some of which are based on his visit 2 years ago to Alum Bay, IoW. Imaginal Geographies is an exploratory bringing together of landscape, geology and geography, in artworks that hover on a sensitive threshold between abstraction, figuration and an insistence on their own inherent painterly reality.
Jo Kori: Panic Room A small chamber built as a sanctuary is the location for a group of wild mantids known for their extraordinary patience - new reflective wall drawings from Jo.
Albedo Marz: Waking and Sleeping “When walking, I am asleep, when sleeping, I dream reality Pursued and covered with sweat, I run” - Song of a Citizen by Czeslaw Milosz In this new series of collages by Albedo, the waker becomes the sleeper, who in their dreams becomes the landscape and their own and all history.
Join Jo Kori & Albedo Marz for these talks on the artworks within the exhibition.
