Part of Isle of Arts Festival 2014
Monday 5 May – 12:30 – Eversley Hotel – Tickets £19.00 (incl food)
Smooth jazz, good food; what could possibly be a better way to while away a few hours on a Bank Holiday Monday? Sit back and relax and let the music flow over you……
Sarah Bolter started to play clarinet at the age of eight, swiftly followed by both flute and saxophone. She has been playing on and off ever since, currently dividing her time between teaching, running her successful band ‘Not Just Sax’ , being lead tenor player in GOJO (Girls Only Jazz Orchestra), and working as a solo or duo artist or session player for other bands and for pit orchestras. She will be supported today by Mick Smith on piano, Pete Maxfield on double bass and Ken Black on drums.
Joining them will be the Isle of Wight’s own “first lady of jazz”, vocalist Edana Minghella. Edana, whose family run the very successful Minghella ice cream business, has established herself as a successful jazz performer both in the UK and Italy, and she is always delighted to be asked to come back to the Island for a great jazz session.
There will be two sessions of music, with a longer than usual interval in which the Eversley Hotel will lay on a Buffet “Brunch”, which is included in the price of the event. Please note that this event MUST be booked in advance to allow correct numbers for catering.
