The next concert in West Wight Arts Association’s new season will be given in Freshwater Memorial Hall on Saturday October 15th by local pianist James Longford, starting at 7.00pm.
James has worked all over the world as a pianist, but is also a vocal coach, organist and répétiteur. In 2012 he founded the Galos Piano Trio which performed in the Memorial Hall in April.
James is a passionate educator and works with many local community choirs, festivals and education projects on the Island.
He won the Tagore Gold Medal during his studies at the Royal College of Music. He also trained at the Britten-Pears School, St Martins in the Fields and Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada and was selected as a Steinway Artist in 2014.
He will play works by Bach, Judith Bingham, Fauré and Chopin.
