It will show you what to look for throughout the year and show how the sky changes at different times of the year and why this happens. Also it takes you through some of the basic observing tips, guides you with choosing appropriate and helpful books, observing aids and instruments. You will also each receive a set of notes of everything covered in the evening to take with you. SECOND SESSION - OUTSIDE OF THE PLANETARIUM USING OUR TELESCOPES

After the first session which lasts for around 45 minutes, weather permitting there will be an observing session which can sometimes continues until midnight! This will enable you to put into practice something of what you will have learnt. In this session we use telescopes to see some objects in more detail.

If the skies are not clear we will run a simulated stargazing session in the Planetarium Astrodome. We will keep checking the skies during this session and if the skies clear we will get outside!
