The second concert in West Wight Arts Association’s new season promises to be a starry one. Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu returns to Freshwater Memorial Hall on Saturday October 10th at 19.00 to play works by Mendelssohn, Fauré, Szymanowski and Chopin.
Since she first came to perform for West Wight Arts in 2010, Alexandra has become an international figure in the classical music world. Named as “one of 30 pianists under 30 destined for a spectacular career” by the International Piano Magazine she has amongst many other distinctions made her debut in the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, won UK’s Women of the Future Award in 2013, been named Romania’s Woman of the Year in 2014 and released two CDs on Champs Hill Records to critical acclaim.
West Wight Arts Association are delighted and honoured to have her back again.
Tickets at £12.00 (children and students £2.00) are available from Totland Parish Office, 756028 or www.westwightarts.co.uk or at the door.
