International Women’s Day Event

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, come and enjoy a chill-out day for women of all ages - and their daughters too. The New Carnival Company is organising a day of mix ’n match workshops, aimed at bringing out your creative side. This year there is an International Flavour to the workshops “Around The World In Arts And Crafts”.

It takes place at The Broadway Centre, Sandown on Saturday 8 March. The morning session is from 10.30am to 12.30pm and the afternoon session is from 1.15pm to 3.15pm. Bring a packed lunch if staying all day. The cost is just £6 per workshop or £10 all day and this includes materials. You can choose one workshop in the morning and a different one in the afternoon. Choose from:

Woven Bracelets: design and make a woven bracelet and decorate with beads, based on designs from Central and South America

Dreamcatchers: Make a beautiful Dreamcatcher (North American) from willow, decorated with beads and feathers

Folk Art Painted Boxes with an African theme: Paint a wooden trinket box in acrylics
