'Rumpy Pumpy'tells the lively tale of two (real life) Womens Institute Ladies, Jean and Shirley, who were so horrified at the conditions for Working Girls on the streets in the UK and in all the many thousands of (illegal) Brothels that they went on a worldwide search for the 'perfect brothel'.
The play follows their journeys as they move towards their aim to bring the perfect brothel to the UK - safe, clean, police protected - and try and convince Government (as they are still doing) to adopt the New Zealand model where all prostitution is decriminalised.
Along the way, we meet the Working Girls in the Portsmouth Brothel where it is set - all normal women, policemen, teachers, bank managers - doing other jobs and working their for the money.
'RUMPY PUMPY!' is funny, sad and moving and is suitable for all the family, with lots of comedy and musical fun.
In the same spirit as Calendar Girls and The Full Monty, it deals with a challenging and difficult social reality in a respectful, thought-provoking yet highly amusing and entertaining way.
