International Women's Day Event

To celebrate International Women's Day this year, come and enjoy a chill-out day for women of all ages - and their daughters too. The New Carnival Company is organising a day of mix 'n match workshops, aimed at bringing out your creative side.

It takes place at The Learning Centre, Westridge, Ryde on Saturday 9 March. The morning session is from 10.30am to 12.30pm and the afternoon session is from 1.15pm to 3.15pm.

Bring a packed lunch if staying all day. The cost is just £6 per workshop or £10 all day and this includes materials.

Choose from:

Batik Bags: design and make a cotton batik bag using wax pots and copper pens and then add colour with paintbrushes and fabric dyes.

Textile Jewellery and Accessories: use a variety of fabrics and buttons and beads to make necklaces, brooches, key holders, mobile phone covers etc.

Jewellery from Recycled Materials: includes ring-pull bracelets and jewellery from recycled computer keyboards and game pieces.

Nail Art: a fun and creative workshop that will teach you some basic, simple Nail Art techniques, that are easy to do at home. Includes applying glitter varnishes and gems.

All women welcome and daughters too (8 years +)
