In conjunction with BBC2's Stargazing Live we are hosting an evening of hands on activities and stargazing supervised by the societies experienced amateur astronomers.

Presentations, observing the sky through various telescopes, tours of the dome.

BBC2's Stargazing LIVE 2013 is set to be the biggest yet! Tentative dates are 8, 9, 10 January and Dara O Briain and Professor Brian Cox will be returning to inspire the nation about the wonders to be seen in our incredible universe.

The three TV live shows will focus on the following themes:

1. Earth and missions into space
   
2. Mars and living in space
   
3. Supernovae and explosions: the Big Bang and the end of the universe.
