Somewhere to go to after school to work and play with music...
14–18 year olds only
This month’s Rob da Bank’s Music Club will take place on Tuesday 22nd May (5:00-7:00pm) at Quay Arts in Newport
The Club will again take over every room at Quay Arts (including the gallery and theatre) and fill each space with DJ workshops & demos, digital & live music workshops, photography and AV workshops, singing workshops, street dance and a jamming session.
Exclusive this month will be: ‘Rob Da Bank’s Top 10 Tips On Getting Into The Music Biz’
Also this month, local band Rachel’s Reason will be providing the guitar, bass & drums workshops, alongside our usual teachers.
The Isle of Wight based band formed in 2010 following a well-received, impromptu jam on the Bestival Bandstand.
Other confirmed workshops & demos;
DJ workshops (5-7pm)
Live Music production with Lo (from New Order’s production team) (5-7pm)
AV workshops in the Gallery (5-7pm) with Lucy Boynton teaching photography to AV techniques
Street Dancing (5.30 -6.30pm)
Guitar, Bass, Singing plus Live & Electric Drum Workshops 5-6pm (with option to move to the Theatre for the jamming session) (6-7pm)
And Island teens are also invited to come along if they would like to just be able to generally chill out with music (free squash and snacks provided for those hungry from school too).
